but Intel will give a manufacturer a smorgasbord of options, up to and including a complete turnkey engineering effort or even providing tested board level product. Dell uses this last approach in the dimension line. Dell also produces another desktop line Optiplex which is designed by Dell engineers. It uses Intel CPUs also but it would not be a stretch use something else. Dell has the ability, just not the desire as Intel tries to keep them happy enough. TP
