Is this smart? : to announce intended price cuts. Wouldn't I feel like putting off a purchase, knowing that it will be 1/2 price soon?
Of course this was intended for H&Q and maybe consumers won't hear of it, although on second thought this is the kind of news PC WEEK prints. On third thought, $99 means KE gets $50 a drive, so the strategy is obviously to give it away and sell the disks. I think there is quite a bit of history on companies that try to sell proprietary refills (some good some bad)
In any case the market sure likes the idea. But I think most of this action is technical now, and any news is an excuse. NASDAQ won't let you short it, and that dries up half the supply. And the other half, the profit takers, from the sound of these boards, don't sound like chicken longs.
