XCR,

1) ZD: Ziff's that heavy indebted that finally the rate cut may improve there balance sheet when they manage to roll over their debt and can keep costs tame.
Intuitively I "received" the sell signal, too, when I watched the stock on a frequent basis and found it topping on diminishing volume.
Once October, Ziff's made motley fools hill when they went 3ish from their $15 IPO prices..(while ZD was named in a bunch of class action lawsuits...)

fnews.yahoo.com see the bottom "fool on the hill"

2) REFR, I know that well. there were harsh discussions between us and REFR bulls whether REFR has a strange "put" right at $7.50 (ie rights to issue stock and sell for $7.50 to note holders). I have to dig in history a bit to update the facts. At 9ish, it seems that they could place shares in exhange for the note.

There is another one, IMAL, where a conversion period starts right now... I will pay a look, also lots of history here.

Finally I have problems with Tech-Electro units (TELEU, common stock is TELE). I am short, but can't get pieces and do not want to pay $9 for them. No turnover for days.#
