Philip, Harold, John, Tony, Gerry, and all..

La Quinta, CA -- Wave Systems Corp. (OTC BB: WAVX; wave.com) today announced that its EMBASSY E-Commerce System was selected by attendees of Giga Information Group's "Emerging
Technology Scene" conference as the Most Innovative Product in the "Amazing Future of the Desktop" demo competition.

This is GREAT NEWS!

But, one question. Perhaps Gerry may be of help here... When is PAUL ALLEN paulallen.com going to invest in Wave Systems Corporation?

Would it hurt to send Mr. Allen an e-mail of the recent news about our Award from Giga along with some information about ourselves?

Something like this?

To pallen@wlyn.com

Dear Mr. Allen,

This is not a sales pitch.. My Name is Martin L. Bring. [angustus@memes.com] and I'm just a fellow investor in the Seattle area. 360-671-1181

I believe you will find this information of benefit in your endeavors.

In e-commerce, server based distribution systems and encryption don't cut it. As you are interested in e-commerce, you may consider investing in miroprocessor technologies soon to provide for and process the multi-channel distribution of digital information and entertainment. Hardware solutions on PC's which include encryption for security and place consumers at the point of purchase, rather than networks or commerce servers, will ultimately dominate. Providing such solutions is a company called Wave Systems Corporation. Wave Systems [WAVX]. wave.com is currently working with HP, IBM, and several other OEM's, along with many electronic data and entertainment service content providers to enable PC's and set-top boxes with these micro-transaction microprocessors. The company is backed by George Gilder, Nicholas Negroponte and other rather bright fellows, including Peter Sprague, former chairman of National Semiconductor from 1965-1995 and now Wave Systems' Chief Executive Officer. The company's objective, although a bit ahead of its time, is rather simple: Process transactions on consumers' desktops through microprocessors residing on the client side, avoiding the transaction handling costs inherent in server-based, software-only solutions and systems. These microprocessors will reside in all kinds of entertainment and information providing digital devices. The microprocessors will allow future, subscribing, digital information consumers to store their own account balances, transaction logs, smart card information and execution licenses; thus, eliminating the need for consumers to enter passwords, security codes, or credit card information for each transaction. The Wave System also enables PC owners not only to consume but also to publish and sell their own encrypted digital content anywhere on the Net in the form of self-merchandizing objects.

Amities,
Your friend,
Marty

Wave Systems' EMBASSY E-Commerce System Wins
"Most Innovative Product Award" in the Desktop Category at
Giga Information Group Conference
La Quinta, CA -- Wave Systems Corp. (OTC BB: WAVX; wave.com) today announced that its EMBASSY E-Commerce System was selected by attendees of Giga Information Group's "Emerging
Technology Scene" conference as the Most Innovative Product in the "Amazing Future of the Desktop" demo competition.
Steven Sprague, president of Wave Systems, spoke to conference attendees and Giga Group analysts Monday December 7, 1998. His product demonstration and speech addressed the issues of secure
e-commerce and content distribution and the need for standards-based "trusted-client" solutions that enable broad-based content delivery by placing secure transaction engines at the desktop.
"I am very encouraged to see that IT professionals, industry leaders, and Giga analysts understand the inherent value and promise the EMBASSY trusted-client technology by honoring us with the Most
Innovative Product award in the desktop category," said Steven Sprague, Wave Systems President. "The increasing number of alliances Wave has struck over the past few months will accelerate the broad
distribution of Wave's technology into the marketplace. Giga's conference was the perfect opportunity to increase our current base of industry support."
The trusted-client system is an open, programmable hardware- and software-based device that creates a fully exportable, secure and trusted environment within the PC. It provides an inexpensive, standards-based platform for running secure applications and protecting important data and digital identities in individual
PCs. As the first implementation of the trusted client technology, Wave's EMBASSY E-Commerce System embeds security and trust at the desktop and creates a client-based solution for e-commerce, Internet
security, and content delivery, elevating the personal computer to an important new role in the evolving digital economy.
About Wave Systems Corp:
Founded in 1988, the mission of Wave Systems Corporation is to create the world's best technologies and services to secure and sell digital information. Wave's core EMBASSY technology is an inexpensive,
proprietary hardware and software-based device that enables secure transaction processing and distributed information metering in users' PCs. Embedded in PC hardware and peripherals, set-top boxes and other
devices, EMBASSY is the foundation for client-based security applications and a new distribution and purchasing model for content and services. This low-cost, secure "system within a system" will enable the personal computer to assume an important new role in the evolving digital economy. By moving secure transactions to the desktop, Wave provides intrinsic value to the electronic commerce process, benefiting PC users, application developers, and hardware manufacturers. A shot in the dark,
Oh well, got to try.
