We are talking about politics. The Republicans are setting the precedent that lying "under oath" can be grounds to remove a minority President from office. This is an awful assault on the separation of powers set forth by our constitution!


Yes in fact there was an interview with a Berkeley political science professor tonight on an SF station where he elaborated on this very subject - to paraphrase, how for the first time the republicans have organized in an effort to redefine impeachment to be a purely partisan gesture. The thing that amazed him most, he said was the up front and open approach the republicans are taking with this tact... he feels you could walk up to any number of key republicans and they would immediately state (in private) that that is the game. Im trying to find a transcript of this show but the most interesting part was the disgust on the part of the interviewer and this professor for this abuse of power - by the republicans (not by Clinton).
