Paul RE:You may want to read some history about the internet and how it got started and Sun's role in its development - there is an excellent documentary on PBS which

Well I couldn't read it, because when I clicked the link my computer failed. What a pain. So I will take your word for it.

From a technical standpoint, HP, IBM, SUN, NSCP, MSFT etc. have all made their contributions. SUN certainly did and continues to play a big role in the internet. But I am not talking from a technical stadpoint but from an investors perspective. SUNW gets most of their revenues from Hardware/Software. Hardware and software that competes primarily with HWP and IBM, but increasingly with MSFT and INTC. That is why I say they are a box maker.

Re:As far as the .Com commercials go they highlight that any commercial site that is going to depend on the internet shouldnt have to reboot when they load new

No. They don't highlight anything. They just show a bunch of consumer products with the words .com next to them. And the only place I've seen the commercials is on CNBC (the stock channel). It looks like the commercial was written for investors. As in "Hey investors - don't forget we are an internet company".
