Those that do not like my thread.

That sounds a little scary to me. Setting up a thread is one thing, but claiming ownership and taking steps to exclude people that disagree is another. I have to agree with Vitas that the response on 1115 to 1111 was very poor. I didn't take the 1111 post to be hostile in the least. Here was a guy saying that this must be a good thread that did better than average, and LG shot him out of the water.

As mostly an outsider, from time to time, I try to read this thread. LG seems very solicitous most of the time. When I looked at his profile and saw reference to Richard Ney, I was puzzled. Richard Ney, to me, is a paranoid, looking for conspiracy. Then, after telling his reader that the game is hopelessly stacked against him, he launches the weakest form of ta. I believe I didn't approach LG in a very good way when I challenged him on his Ney viewpoint, but I didn't really know how to word my feelings. Ney was a kook, what did he find of value in Ney, was the statement/question. I, also, got told to get lost. Supposedly he didn't have time or the inclination to react. I have trouble understanding that from someone who posts to si dozens of times each day and believes that this is his thread. A person that won't take the time to explain their own philosophy holding themselves up as the master of ceremonies of a thread, doesn't pass the smell test to me.

I think that LG is charming much of the time, but only when "his" thread is going the way he wants it to go. So to me, it fails the test of being a good thread as it is not open to legitimate counterpoint.

Regards,

AR
