Best Buy is a competitor of Circuit City. Computers, TVs, VCRs, some appliances.

I have only been inside Best Buy three times since there are none near me. The first time I stayed for less than five minutes--the piped rock music in the store was so-o-o loud I couldn't stand it. Had I tried to ask one of the few sales people a question I really don't think I could have heard his response (over the music).

The second time was in October, at another Best Buy. Unable to find someone who could answer my questions about the cordless phones, I left. Third time [this same BB]was with a cousin the week before Thanksgiving. She knew exactly what she wanted while I hung-out in the computer area watching people. It was the blind leading the blind. There did not seem to be sales people assigned exclusively to this area. The customers were asking each other questions; a lot of, "Do you know...," and, "I'm not sure's."

Best Buy is expanding. A new one is open/soon to open outside Boston.
