The "seasonal PC pickup" will last through the year 2000, as many gov't and business enterprises are planning major PC purchases to take advantage of the newer models and revamp large parts of their networks to avoid Y2K issues. (It is actually cheaper to do a wholesale swap of old 386/486 PCs than to try to identify the components that may have Y2K problems, I am told by my clients.)
