Hi. If Europe takes over their own defence that will mean they can defend themselves against any enemy they choose and fight any war they wish. In doing so they will need to buy a lot of arms and guess who won't get the contracts. The US will loose many more trillions and much more influence than the trillions of $ they have spent so for if Europe becomes its own master.
