To All: I joined SI back on June 3 1998. I found it an added, an extra dimension to my trading day. I probably started contributing on a regular basis by July.
Each of us know our own analysis or opinion on things. On occasion contributing one's thoughts or views may add value to the discussion. The interesting part of SI for me, is the ability to get others views and opinions. However, one need not contribute or post to glean most of this information.
As do many, I have my faults. In addition, on occasion I “must” over react to a post misread or not. But I have never posted (in my opinion) more than superficial swipes in response to what I have deemed to be negative or hostile post. Maybe on occasion I have misread the post and it was uncalled for. And upon realizing I am wrong, I have always apologized. In most every circumstance the exchange was resolved cordially within the next post or two. Now to all I have wronged and have not apologized, I do so now!
However, I do not think I deserved over thirty post denigrating me, as has just taken place. My only contribution to the exchange was to try and explaining my thought process. Obviously this was not enough.
Spam a little, hyping a new thread and your in the dog house. Come on a thread and attack someone for hours with twenty plus post, I suspect that will be viewed as freedom of speech.
Now I am reevaluating the risk/reward value in continuing to post. Of course I have access to my own analysis and can still obtain others analysis in most cases by simply lurking. That is sounding pretty good to me right now.
Heck, maybe I deserved to be jumped by two posters hurling a total of over thirty post at me. Of course, neither poster had contributed to the DMA thread prior to their attacks on me.
Of course this is NOT my thread. That WAS a poor choice of words on my part. This thread belongs to the posters that selflessly offer their analysis, research and opinions for all to benefit. I believe I have always stated that point of view from the beginning of the very short history of this thread.
Thanks to the few that publicly supported me.
