By Sergio G. Non, TechWeb
iVillage, a well-known website for women, wants to go public.

In a filing Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, New York-based iVillage said it wants to raise $46 million in an IPO. The company, which applied for the ticker symbol IVIL, did not say how many shares would be offered nor the offering price.

Goldman Sachs is lead underwriter, with Credit Suisse First Boston and Hambrecht & Quist assisting.
