I don't have an interest in any env. debate here. However, it's important to know that the scientific community does not have concensus on this or global warming. I work at the Oak Ridge National Lab and can tell you that the concensus there via published documents,is that the ozone "hole" problem you have probably heard of doesn't exist. I won't go into any detail,suffice it to say these folks have world class credentials,more so than Al Gore. The truth is he and folks like him have an ideological problem with the entire "industrial" age. Therefore, they are quick to believe any info extant that supports what they want to believe. Quickly,let me point out that Chlorine is the "bad" guy in the ozone hole scenario. 99% of it is contributed from volcanoes. 1% from mankind. This is a fact. You decide for yourself on that question whether or not doing away with manmade uses of chlorine would be a net plus for mankind after factoring in the positives. Gore automatically chooses against our use of it. This,in my mind,makes him a fanatic,not a good steward of the earth. There is a huge difference. The other questions are of the same
type factors. How many trees do you imagine are no longer on earth since 1600 and how many more people are there? Hard to make a scientific case that we are worse off as we all live much longer than just 100 years ago.
