Hi Don,

I agree that this stock is dead money for a while. It might be
good to trade for a few points here and there but long term
does not look all that promising.
1st - 3DFX, NVIDIA and Matrox control the high end graphics
and have the mind share at OEM's and Retail. I was at a best buy
today and heard people asking for Banshee, Voodoo 2 and TNT
products. Did not see a Hercules or S3 product listed anywhere.
2nd - for mainstream - this market is controlled by Matrox
and ATI. They are not about to lose this space like S3 did
by not having the products OEM's want. Most of this is for
motherboard designs that means getting design wins at Intel
and other motherboard manufactures. I am sure that Intel is
not going to be all that supportive to helping revitalize
S3 now that they are down, especially when then are in the
graphics market themselves.
I am out now but will throw a few bucks if it goes to $2-$3.
