Thanks for the post.

I am not totally convinced about the inability of the current MMX. The vested interest, of course, is on DSP
to perform modem functions. And most of the algorithm developers are with DSP camp. Intel lacks
these experts therefore the MMX is not as good as it can be.

My point is that it has less to do with MMX, it has alot to do with whether
the Modem DSP experts want to put their efforts on a MMX or not. And most of
them are not---because this only helps Intel to sell their CPUs---it does not
help modem IC companies or modem manuafcturers like USRX.

The problem with MMX based modem software is that you can only sell $2 to $5 dollar for the
software.
