Oracle's 'computer without an OS'... It used to be called a terminal. This is insulting to anyone who knows anything about computer technology. Any system which uses software to boot, configure the hardware and communicate via network protocols requires an OS to function. It may be a very small OS. The only way to get by with no OS is if absolutely all of the intelligence is external to the unit - like a VT220 or a 3270. Even a Wyse Winterm has an OS.

Ellison has done a great deal of damage to his organization and credibility with his anti-MSFT jihad. several of the better people in his organization got drafted in the NC debacle, then sent to the guillotine when they couldn't make gold out of lead. Have these guys heard of the windows terminal / MSFT Terminal server architecture? Or Citrix? Or Wyse? All of these guys are in that space, Wyse actually makes a pretty good set of products. Just another humorous larry episode.
