Chuck, I realize that you and others read a gold thread and other articles,
but here are 2 views from the Mongolia Thread.

From: Bill Jackson
Ever hear of a line voltage regulator? for 120 volt lines? What
ever the real line voltage is your plug sees 120 volts. It goes to 150
to 250 and it works OK, but what happens as the voltage drops below 120?
to 80 to 60 to 40.....? The regulator must take more and more current at
lower and lower voltages to trasform it into 120 volts. As you get near
zero volts your current goes infinite. This is an analog of a short
squeeze, there are no volts and the system fails. This phantom gold has
to circulate in ever higher amounts as the distortions increase. All it
takes is for true demand to grow and the price will leap as you cannot
make a ring or fill a tooth with this paper gold.
When Japan and Asia recover demand will explode. Japan has started and
we are near an inflection point and that is why all majors are snapping
up the juniors.

I don't think it is in the major producer's best interest to squeeze the
shorts. Not until they've filled their buckets at the bottom of the
market.

The gold market is fascinating, and may be one of the most interesting
twists on monopolies ever. Just who benefits from the current situation?
