Valdimir, come on. The chipsets are in development (at least
the TI and MOT ones) and should be out 1Q97 sometime. I have
heard nothing to indicate that there are any major problems
w/timing, and given the fact that MOT, at least, has been
working on the chip for 8 months, I doubt they would throw
away their investment now. Technology always advances, and part
of what is needed for ADSL to be adopted by the RBOC's is a
cheap, power non-hungry, robust system. A necessary, but perhaps
not sufficient piece of the puzzle. BTW, the maximum upstream
rates achievable by CAP are 64 kbytes/sec. Better than nothing,
but not fast enough to be a internet host or for video conferencing.
