Nice post and a gold star for excellent research.
Im not a fan of net pc's. But lets not ignore the success of citrix.
Its sells a version of the net pc.
The huge advantage here is the lower cost of network administration in the corporate environment. The network administrators have to manage the software on each workstation in the corporation. With the thin client or a product like citrix's, this is unnecessary, the actual software is on the host. The company updates the host and the pc's automatically are updated. Windows NT is successful because it caters to the corporate network administrators.
This will probably see some success and it won't be based on pc prices but corporate IS control issues.
