Tony: RE: Backward compatibility with DRDRAM.

Maybe it's me. I'm trying to understand this completely and appreciate your help. Are you saying that I'll be able to add RDRAM to my current 'puters, a PII333MHz, P166 laptop, and a P60? I know from past machines (even earlier than the P60) that you can't just add the newest memory.

Maybe you can tell me what I would have to do if I wanted to avoid purchasing a new machine but take advantage of the Rambus' DRDRAM. Posts on the Rambus thread made me think it would not be compatible with older machines.

You know I try to understand what I can regarding technology that all seems "magic" to me. I'm definitely on the outside looking in. And very appreciative of those who take time to try to explain to those of us who read and read and STILL don't see the light. <vbg>

Thanks, dmf
