Dear Lou Gerstner,

I feel that it is the right time for you to either split IBM 3:1 or increase the dividend by at least 50%. I feel that there is enough growth in IBM's markets to warrant a 3:1 stock split. If a split is not an option, then an increase in dividend is the alternative. Please recall IBM's crash early this decade. The dividend was almost four times as much as the current rate. I feel that IBM has proven itself once again and can confidently afford to pay its shareholders more by means of a dividend increase.
