Elio, my understanding is that treasury shares are shares that are part of the total authorized, but are not issued shares.

For example, if a company had, say, 10 million authorized shares but had only issued 5 million, there would then be 5 million treasury shares.

The float would be 5 million (the 5 million issued) unless some of these 5 million were restricted.

Suppose there were 1 million restricted shares.
You would then have:
5 million treasury shares
1 million restricted shares
4 million shares in the float

Someone please correct me if this is not correct.
