This link has alrady been posted, but it mentions CUBE's Japanese foundry partner techweb.com
Matsushita. It talks about the importance of vertical integration. Toshiba being able to sell its chipset for its own players.
I would really like to know if Matsushita has two DVD programs.
One of its own AND one from CUBE? Or is CUBE likely to be the primary
source of silicon for Matsushita's brands. Matsushita has licensed the MicroSparc core also( I think). Would they be likely to have their own integrated solution and only need CUBE as a second source? Or use CUBE if their solution is better than their own. Is there a greater likelihood for a design win at Matsushita than elsewhere? For fabless semi's is the relationship with a foundry a close partnership
of strategic significance, or just a way to make some money?

If the E4 is unveiled at NAB in April and costs about 150 + firmware
does this create any large new markets? Could it be used for Camcorders,PCs,Videophones?Would there be any advantages to a video phone that was MGEG2 as compared to Indeo compression?

Thanks in advance for help in answering my Qs
