Estimated Prophet: The threat of civil liability cannot be avoided by anonymous posting. I know of no good legal reason why the people at SI would not have to reveal the name of a poster when subjected to a subpoena to produce the information.

This would seem to be good for the responsiblity of posts on SI so I view it as a positive development.

I totally agree. And applaud this public act on SI to begin the suit. I am tired of reading post from posters that hype or bash stocks on a regular basis for personal gain.

In addition, I for one am tired of shameless attacks on individuals on SI. Of course I am not talking about the occasional negative exchange. These actions often require the individual being attacked to lower themselves to the level of their attackers and defend themselves or just endure the punishing blows in hopes the attack will soon end. Even if, and that is a big if, SI Administration does something like warning or effecting a minimal suspension, that goes little toward undoing the harm inflicted in some cases.

Eventually there will be individuals that will be willing to commit the appropriate funds to go after such attackers and exact a measure of justice.

Regards,
LG
