Barbara, bookkeeping, Seems like the women here are pretty disciplined when it comes to the record keeping aspect of trading. Having worked for a tax firm for 12 years, I am pretty comfortable when it comes to doing my own. I keep an ongoing schedule D throughout the year for each brokerage I have an account with. Then when tax time comes, I enter the totals from the brokerage and send the schedule D lists as supporting documents. I keep track of wash sales as I go along, making it much easier for myself at tax time.

We each develop a system that works for us and yours sound VERY GOOD. The important thing being, to HAVE a system. If I was preparing your taxes, I would be thrilled to be handed a well organized packet like yours.
