During a relatively recent tribute to Goodman at Carnegie Hall about two years ago, they did some re-dos of his original '38 concert at CH. Wow! It was something to behold. I've enjoyed the Doors during the really wacky days, Chicago at Madison Square Garden during the Seventies, and the Stones elsewhere, and more, but this was different, entirely.

The man had guts in more ways than one. And could he swing!

Anyone notice how swing is coming back lately? I turned on MTV the other day, and was compelled to call my Dad to brief him about a swing video that just about knocked my socks off.

The dance partners in this thing were actually making contact with one another...

Who are the favored swing bands/orchestras of the present day? I've got mine picked out at CH and Lincoln Center, when they feel like it, and when they break away from the Be-Bop and the progressives, but who has made swing their hallmark today? Anyone?
