Kerry: Bloomberg released this story Saturday:

FedEx Pilots Say Contract Talks May Stalemate on Issue of Pay

Memphis, Tennessee, Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- FDX Corp.'s pilots union said that while contract talks are progressing with Federal Express, the world's largest overnight-delivery company, the talks may stalemate on the issue of pay.

When negotiations resumed, the company withdrew its offer to raise the pilots' pay 17 percent over five years, saying strike preparations cost too much. The pilots, who earn an average salary of $142,000, are seeking their first contract with Fedex. ...

FedEx officials couldn't be reached for comment. The union said the two sides have been negotiating ''round-the-clock'' and talks are scheduled through the weekend. ...

Separately, FedEx told Reuters news service yesterday it would hold a news conference next week to make an announcement concerning electronic commerce. FDX shares rose 7.1 percent Monday following a report in Barron's that FedEx could be considered an Internet stock and is well-positioned to take advantage of the electronic-commerce boom. ...
