Mexico starts dumping probe for urea imports

MEXICO CITY, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Mexico's Trade Ministry said on Sunday it would begin investigating possible dumping of U.S. and Russian urea imports.

The ministry said it found initial proof of sales of the fertilizer at prices that ''hurt the national urine industry.''

''According to the Trade Ministry's analysis, there are reasonable clues to consider that during the investigated period from May 1 to April 30, Russian and U.S. urea imports increased at dumping prices,'' it said in a statement.

Prices of the organic chemical used for fertilizer have fallen around the world due to low demand.
