Bob, you missed the point. Accepting the truth of the set of myths about the world and the origin of life-- myths in which Jesus is a rather late participant-- requires that the believer violate the same standards of rational judgment as between truth and unlikelihood that he otherwise employs in the conduct of everyday life.
You are ill-advised to rest your claims for a spiritual "body" on the evidence of out of body experience, I'm sorry to say. This is one of those psychic claims that is subject to a very straightforward empirical test, ie, can the person who claims to be able to circulate in a spirit form accurately describe events or features of the landscapes he claims to be traversing. The results of these tests are uniformly negative. Out of body experiencers have even been unable to rise as high as a shelf set on the wall of the room in which these tests are being performed and report back what numbers are being shown on the shelf (by a random number generator.)
There is a widely accepted physiological/psychological explanation for both these "out of body" experiences and the related near-death experience. Susan Blackmore, a parapsychologist who began her researches very much convinced of the reality of these two kinds of phenomena, reached, after much experimentation, the disappointing-to-her conclusion that they are explicable in rather mundane scientific terms having to do with anoxia and certain artifacts of nervous system function.
Bob, if you genuinely find the idea that an invisible, intangible Being produced life on earth more plausible than an evolutionary process based on natural selection, that is certainly your right, and I hope you take comfort and joy from this conviction.
