To all:
In hindsight i think we lost a chance for a much better report(earnings) than we recieved. Jay said at the end of qtr3 that they would not put any more cash into inventories. So .... already it would seem that they knew the max number of chips they could sell=570,000, because they were "package" limited. If this statement is true, then i would have to say knowing the supply and predicting their demand that they were way off in their 3qtr price reductions! We know now that they intend to maintain constant current pricing, i would suggest that they were one qtr short in reaching current priceing levels and qtr 3 reductions were to aggressive. I could understand to some degree that they HAD TO sell chips and this strategy was the least risky. Any comments?
I really dont know the definition of "packaging", could someone please explain this to me. Also i read in The Microprossor Report that the time from tapeout untill production is normally 12 months where can i find the chip lifecycle till production.
