Afaq,
Thanks for the repost.
Certainly I can't disagree that Osicom has potential to serve Bell. Yes that was a while ago. My point in posting it was nto so much a comparison of technology but just another example where Osicom, with a huge lead, with "better technology" is nowhere to be seen. They had Gigamux then and they had a "hunting liscense" from NEC.
What I see is a continous pattern of failing to realize potential.
Gigamux, first to market in a potentially huge market and as of yet only token sales. Has everyone forgotten WCOM's trials, emailing the lab technicians? Adding up how many GigaMuxes WCOM might buy? Or has that cheer simply grown old and was updated to the new snappy Media One cheer?
Net+ARM first to market yet no signifcant desing wins. Only replacing the business they had previously served with NetPrint and network cards as add ons to printers. But nothing new, outside of printers, in months of availability.
IQX-200, awarded best value per port at a time when "small local ISP's were the fastest growing segment". Once again sales disapointing with a product of huge potential.
One lesson FIBR taught me is that nothing replaces good management. Not the hottest technology, not industry awards, none of that means anything unless you can execute.
But here I'll offer up some more potential. In regards to Aware's CEO owning shares. And let me be the first to ask at what cost basis he got those at. Here is a couple of stories where GigaMux may be used in conjuctionn with ADSL. These are awards for a RELTEC product. Yes actual contracts much like the long awaited Media One deal. At anyrate I think it offers yet more hope for you all, especially in light of Aware's CEO, so enjoy.
