Good bye WHIG Party....Good bye GOP...it was nice havin' ya. The backlash the GOP will feel in 2000 scares even me. What we are basically seeing is the total destruction of the two-party system and as is almost always the case, the destruction almost always comes from within. It really is beyond belief. To think that we are in a represenative democracy where the representatives we elect barely take notice of what the governed want. It is one thing in pre-war times when we elected officials could with some rationality say that they were elected to use their heads and that it was impossible to know what the governed thought on each and every issue. But today...on important issues, that surely is not the case and here we have one party who thinks that they can ignore this most basic and fundamental fact of life and that fact of life is it is the governed who have the last word.

The strength of that "word" in 2,000 is beginning to scare even me.

It's too late...the die is cast and there is no turning back for the GOP now. It is the most singularly impossible political situation that I have ever seen let alone ever even read about. And the GOP did it to themselves. how could this have happened?

For those of you who disagree with my conclusion about the year 2000 elections, I will not even waste my breath ever pointing out this situation again. It is so rare that I am wrong on items like this that to me it is already a fact. I know it to be...it will be. And I am not pleased about it in spite of the fact that I tossed the GOP over the side 15 years ago. There is nothing the GOP can do. It is even too late for them to check into a nut house for an extra 2,500 volts to the left side. It's gone. Finished. Kaput. Ended. All over. The fat lady has sung.

It is more than sad...it is scary as hell.
