Actually Steve, the Senate has alot less extremes...left and right. While a congressperson only has to suck up to his/her own district, a Senator has to have broad appeal across the whole state. Take California for example. That's how a Ron Dellums and Bob Dornan could get elected to the House, but neither would have had a chance winning a Senate seat. And don't forget, it takes a 2/3 vote to convict..same % as it takes to override a veto. And I think I can count the number of times a Clinton veto has been overridden on one leg of a three toed sloth. TG
