Regardless of x2, USR should get some good press as AOL announces improvements in their busy signal counts as they deploy modems.

USR has never been much for front running news, preferring to instead to let results speak for themselves. The x2 news is a good example - Rockwell couldn't wait to announce 56k although they are months behind USR. Remember our anguish for three weeks when USR didn't say anything? But when they finally spoke, they rattled the competition so badly they scared them into what would have previously been considered an unholy alliance.

Also, AOL is starting direct marketing of computer hardware, including USR modems. That's quite an audience, and growing daily.
