Mr. Jaffe: I would think that you would be more than safe in writing off at this point. The companies have been taken private without any knowledge of the shareholders and are currently being stolen. I have written to the SEC and the FBI, with no response. So I think that the IRS would be hard pressed to bring a case against us on the writeoff. I welcome their involvement, but I doubt that they give a dern as there are bigger fish to fry. My advice to you is to do the same and keep a record of it for later. File the complaint.
