I did some comparison shopping among BAMM, BKS and AMZN. What I've found is that on average BAMM was the least expensive, followed by BKS and then AMZN. Looks like AMZN has become complacent as the top Internet book-retailer and doesn't think it needs to offer much savings. BKS with their alliance with Bertelsman has leveraged purchasing power. BAMM I'm not sure how they're able to undercut the other two.

But anyway I would rather purchase a book from BAMM than anywhere else. While the short-term outlook is fuzzy, BAMM has a long history (~86 years) of continuous operation, something BKS or AMZN doesn't.

They also have a millionaire's club you can join to get an additional 10% off all purchase. The cost is $5 per year, which is easily recovered in 2 books. However WITHOUT this additional 10% BAMM is still lower-priced than the other 2.

As I've stated before, the Internet shopper's top priorities are #1 price and #2 service (return policy especially). BAMM has the lowest price based on 100 books I randomly selected from the Bestseller's list and popular authors (Anne Rice, Stephen King, Tom Clancy, etc). As far as service I haven't had any problems so far, and BAMM delivered my books in the time frame specified 1-2 days, as opposed to BKS which took 8 days for a 24 hour shipment, and AMZN 3 days for a 24 hour shipment, and it was shipped in 2 parts to top it off.

All these are purely IMHO and the research conducted is for a term project in a class called Digital Revolution.
