Citrix is great!
Winframe and Metaframe from Citrix (including The
Microsoft Terminal server) allow for a managed workstation,
you can access most Windows applications from Terminals, and never have to upgrade them anymore.
Users can't insert games, viruses etc into the system, their data is regularly backed up, if the terminal suddenly dies they can reconnect
from any other workstation without losing a single keystroke of their work. etc etc etc.
i can connect to my Windows system from home (450 KM away) together with other users.

With multiuser windows and terminals you turn an inherently unmanageable environment (windows) into a manageable one.
Citrix has sold more than 2 millions licenses.
CPQ keeps this phenomenon under close look, they are running joint roadshows (CPQ, MSFT, CTXS) at least here.
