RE: Gore serves forever See if you can check out the Senate rules. If any two senators cannot delay action on a bill of impeachment longer than 40 days by filibuster I would be very surprised. Can debate be closed on the defense's case? Can the Republicans find 60 votes to close the debate? Can a Senate majority change the rules? Does a bill of impeachment passed by the House in this Congress survive to the next? Will the House have to go through this rigmarole again? Stay tuned. It gets better and better.
