Where's the bottom of this thing?

Somewhere between here and $0 <g>.

Is the growth completely over in this company?

I think it's glory days may be over. It really depends on management's ability to bring new products to market in a timely manner. They got their lunch eaten with the fairway woods and now have the always difficult job of regaining market share. We'll see about those this spring and summer as they were too late to market to have any effect on this year. There is also the much delayed golf ball line. They need that kind of consumable product but they're facing some extremely well entrenched competition. They also need our golf-nut Asian cousins to start spending money again.

Do you think that enough shorts exist to drive this stock lower?

I think that most of the shorting is over. The current downward pressure I believe is mostly the $20-30 buyers taking their tax losses.

The RISK/REWARD factor looks very good at $10 per share.

Well the RISK factor is pretty minimal at this point, maybe 10-15%. It seems to have pretty strong support at $10ish. The REWARD factor, now that's where the crystal ball comes in. Will this ever be a $30 stock again? Don't know, if so I think it will be a long time. If the new fairway woods are successful you could realize a 50-100% gain in a year or two. I think '99 is a critical year for ELY.

You pays your money and you takes your chances.

Cheers -

RC
