<ot> G'day all - Haim, you sez "It is my impression (not research) that there is a wave every 2 to 3 years in the cycle of PC's, which to me makes sense as prices fall to 1/2 for same performance."

According to the Moore's law, performance will double every 18 months. With a deflationary environment, it seems as if it took even less time to obsolescence. For instance, the top of the line laptop I bought less than a year has been discontinued 3 months after I received it.

best, Bosco
