They will start the 3GPP work now.Who knows how the final standard will look like.But what I can say is that if you print out the GSM standard today you will have maybe 25 fullpacked binders.
The 3:rd generation standard will probably not be less anyhow.How many
pages do you think will refer to some chiprate.My guess would be a couple maybe.If you read this thread you get the impression that the only new thing about the 3:rd generation system is the chiprate or the bitrate.It's like discussing only the modem and the quality of the coppperwire when we talk about the IP-network.
