The new line, which will produce 64M dynamic
    random access memory (DRAM) and 256M DRAM chips, will start
    operation as early as next August, the official said.
    "Because of the opaque economic prospects, we had suspended
    additional investment. But we decided to resume it as
    signs are becoming clear that the chip industry will rebound," he said,
    adding that timely facility expansion is what counts
    most.
