JG - Further info on the chip rate upgrade. Eventually, as engineer and I have discussed before, it will be true that chip rate will just be a software parameter. The problem is that software solutions are very slow compared to hardware solutions. Thus using software to produce a 1 MHz signal on a processor running at say 75 Mhz is dangerous, especially since there is a direct and significant effect on the signal quality for even a small amount of jitter in the 1 MHz signal.
