This was a clear violation of your Item # 2, which you feel allows one to simply take the 5th against self incrimination.. its not that simple, taking the 5th can put you behind bars. The habeas petition in U.S. District Court charging that federal authorities -- influenced by the Whitewater Independent Counsel -- holding Susan McDougal illegally in Los Angeles County jail as punishment for refusing to testify in the Whitewater investigation was finally upheld.

Your comment "In most countries you can be forced to testify, or your non-statements can be held as evidence of guilt," is what happened here.

Yet you still believe this? "The Constitution even makes clear that if you are accused of a crime, you do not have to testify."

Look again..
