I talked to Zenith today and found out that to use their system, upstream data has to be sent over a telephone line using a standard telephone modem in addition to the Zenith modem. This didn't sound all that desirable to me. You will be paying for monthly cable and you will have to pay for a 2nd phone line reserved for use with the cable transmission; that is the only way a change the channel request will get thru. If you are using data, you have the cable line tied up and the telephone line tied up. Who can call out or watch tv. This doesn't sound all that desirable at all. AMTX has a much better solution with 2 way transmission over one telephone wire just like we do now and everyone else can watch cable tv while we do this!!! Think hard about this hyped product. I think this is a loser.
