Eric, IMO, Aby's book is the 'next' step in p&f methodology growth. FYI..... the sorting of the historical data is about to become a thing of the past for REGISTERED users who choose to get their FREE historical data from Dreyfus Brokerage, Microsoft Investor or Yahoo Financial. There are links to the first two on the web site and the third should be added this week. IT is posted several posts before this one on this thread. I am putting the finishing touches on a set of utility programs that will convert the downloaded historical data files from the above sources into .EZP formatted files that can be directly accessed from EZ-PnF REGISTERED v2.0 and above. The steps will be 1) download the data files into the ezpnf folder, 2)Either run the utility as a DOS program that will convert one or all of the files in one command line OR use Windows Explorer to drag and drop them four at a time onto the icon for the utility used. 3)Run EZ-PnF, tell it you are using .EZP files in the ezpnf folder and bingo instant chartting. Dreyfus gives you up to one year of data. Microsoft Investor gives you up to three years of data. Yahoo Financial.... I'm not sure how far back they go, I downloaded and converted 30 years of daily prices for IBM last night.... 35 years was too big to run within DOS's memory limit. BUT 35 years of daily data??? MicroSoft and Yahoo also let you download most (all?) the indexes that exist also, not sure about Dreyfus. I am hoping to send the EZUTILS package out as a Christmas surprise to all the REGISTERED users and then include it as part of the basic REGISTERED package. It will be one more reason for those who use the SHAREWARE version to upgrade to REGISTERED when their 60 day trial is over. Ben A.
