Looks to me like JMAR might compete with ESIO on their laser micromachining technology, but I didn't see anything close to what SMIT does when I perused their web page. The "stepper" part of JMAR's business has to do the lithography portion of wafer processing, which is one of the gating factors in the movement to smaller and smaller dimensions. A friend of mine has some JMAR, and the company DOES sound interesting... Steve U.
