Fagan says buy for possible Snap Lake home run

Brian Fagan, writing in the December 1998 issue of the Fagan Report, says leading Northwest Territories diamond explorer Winspear Resources is a buy at its Nov. 27 price of $2.35. Mr. Fagan says Winspear will probably continue to be the highest profile play in the NWT, owing to its "spectacular" results from Snap Lake in June. The letter writer comments that the stock could be priced at between $20 to $50 by the end of 1999, and he thinks it is also possible that the Snap Lake results will never be duplicated. Mr. Fagan says he is well aware of the odds against Snap Lake emerging as one of the richest diamond finds on the planet, yet he is willing to keep an open mind to the possibility that an economic mine may be developed there. The risk in owning Winspear is somewhat hedged by the company's other NWT diamond projects and the fact that it recently completed a $10-million financing at $2, he says, adding: "If you're going to get in, don't worry about a few pennies -- just do it!"
