Bill: Oil up sharply today on rumors that major oil producing nations will soon cur production. Lots of stuff in the press about the very dangerous implications of low oil prices for nations liks Mexico, Venezuala, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, and Indonesia. Turmoil in these nations would threaten US national security. The same cannot be said for low gold prices.

That is why I am much more bullish on depressed oil service stocks than I am on depressed gold stocks. I am far more certain that oil will eventually rebound than I am about gold surging. I am bullish on both oil service and gold stocks, but my confidence in oil is much greater.
