HC: The over-all market kind'a went south today, what with the lack of "warm & fuzzies" all the way around, eh? And I believe there's lot's more to come on that particular front. So did it have an impact of VLNC today? Yup, me thinks so. Will it continue to have an impact? Probably. But that's okay 'cause at this point VLNC appears to be one of those companies that should do very well next year, regardless(short of total melt-down) of market conditions.

By the way, on a parenthetical aside, I'm well under way on trying to strategize over the possible impact of the Euro being born. From my point of view the dollars gonna have a "dollar like" competitor, in the form of the Euro, for the first time in a looong time. That is, from the world economic viewpoint suddenly ya don't have to put all yer reserve currency eggs into a dollars......you can "plop" some of your hard earned cash into the Euro. This cannot be viewed as a good thing from the dollars standpoint, and it should begin to have a negative impact on the U.S., via capital outflows, beginning sometime next year. Indeed, some indicators(T-Bills, etc.) seem to be registering this already, as well as the fact that European banks have begun diminishing their reserves of dollars and agumenting them with a reserve of Euro's. The question becomes how do you keep the U.S. economy growing when one of its funding sources(and some would say major sources) is foreign capital. Of course, this is only my opinion. Bottom Line? Me thinks 1999 is gonna be an interesting year on a slew of fronts!

Regards!

John~
